CHARNETT MOFFETT, son of the legendary percussionist of Ornette Coleman, Charles Moffett, is releasing a new album “New Love” on MOTEMA MUSIC on June 11th…. This musician, who has associated his work for a few years with the exquisite vocalist JANA HERZEN, has played with the elite of US jazz from McCoy Tyner to Kenny Garrett via Ornette Coleman or Wynton Marsalis. It would seem that with this new recording, CHARNETT MOFFETT explores the meanders of his musical memory and gives us his most intimate influences which have marked his career until now. Note the subtle guitar accompaniment of JANA HERZEN and the saxophone and flute interventions of the excellent IRWIN HALL. With this 14th album including 7 from Motéma Music, he affirms that he is one of the best bassists on the American scene with musicians like Marcus Miller or Christian McBride …
