A beautiful, free-form improvised version of the Gershwin classic, “Summertime” performed live by The Charnett Moffett Trio is out today. Featuring the fine vocal artistry of Jana Herzen (vocals/guitar) with Corey Garcia (drums) this performance was recorded at Yoshi’s on July 25th, 2021. “Summertime” is a single, and the leading track of the new CHARNETT MOFFETT TRIO:LIVE EP out October 22, 2021.
On this moving track, acclaimed singer/songwriter Jana Herzen’s soulful angelic voice flies heavenward as it entwines, dances, and is lifted up by jazz bass virtuoso Charnett Moffett’s dramatic bass lines while Garcia’s sensitive symbol work provides accents and atmosphere.
