The track is one half of a double single release that also includes “Lightening the Load”, serving as an introduction to the multi-faceted album.

Saxophonist and David Bowie Blackstar bandleader Donny McCaslin today released two new singles – Head of Mine (featuring fellow Bowie collaborator, and recent The National collaborator Gail Ann Dorsey) and Tokyo a beautiful instrumental track featuring McCaslin’s powerful saxophone. The singles build on the momentum of McCaslin’s acclaimed and genre-transcending album, Blow., which came out in November of 2018.
Both of Mark Guiliana’s projects The Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet and his electric Beat Music project were featured on NPR’s Jazz Night in America. Simon Rentner gives an insight on how Mark Guiliana “…deftly synthesizes the vast array of contemporary sounds around us.”
