Petros Klampanis new album “CHROMA” out now

Petros Klampanis‘ Motéma Music debut, CHROMA, is out now!

On CHROMA, Klampanis explores the colors of human character, inspired by world events and personal experience. Chroma, the Greek word for “color,” masterfully employs a full spectrum of sonic colors to paint an introspective and emotionally daring artistic statement.

“This project arose from a question: What are the elements that compose each one of us, our personal characters, our individuality? The first answer that came to my mind is that character is composed of all the emotions, the thoughts and ideas, the fantasies and experiences that we have in our lifetimes. If we were to assign each of these elements a single color, then every one of us could be seen as a unique composition of colors, the mix of which results in our own, very personal shade. This is what I call CHROMA” –Petros Klampanis

Donny McCaslin featured in The Washington Post

Donny McCaslin was featured in The Washington Post, discussing his experience working with David Bowie, as well as his new album Beyond Now

“[Beyond Now], released in October, plays as both an extension of Blackstar, which won five Grammys last month, and an homage. McCaslin’s originals — like “Shake Loose,” “Glory” and the title track — pick up where Blackstar left off, with McCaslin’s shrieking sax leading hard-charging, often obtuse compositions that blur the line between jazz, rock and electronica.” – Rudi Greenberg, The Washington Post
