Acclaimed drummer and composer Mark Guiliana will be sitting in on Late Night With Seth Meyers(12:35 AM EST/11:35 PM CST on NBC) Monday, May 15 through Thursday, May 18. Guiliana recently signed with Motema Music and will be releasing Jersey (October 2017), his debut album for the label, and the much anticipated sophomore album from The Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet.
Acclaimed drummer and composer Mark Guiliana signed with Motema Music and will be releasing Jersey (October 2017), his debut album for the label, and the much anticipated sophomore album from The Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet (following up the critically-acclaimed Family First).
Guiliana played on David Bowie’s 5x GRAMMY-winning album Blackstar and was featured on GRAMMY-nominated album Mehliana: Taming the Dragon, his duo project with jazz icon Brad Mehldau. Over the past decade, Guiliana has toured extensively around the world with artists such as Meshell Ndegeocello, Gretchen Parlato, bassist Avishai Cohen and many more. He has earned international acclaim for his innovative and creative style, recognized by The New York Times as, “a drummer around whom a cult of admiration has formed.”
Motema gives congratulations to both Donny McCaslin and Jaimeo Brown Transcendence for winning the awards for International Jazz Artist of the Year and Jazz Innovation of the Year, respectively, at the Jazz FM Awards 2017!
Charnett Moffett will return to Exit 0 Jazz Fest this weekend, performing both solo, and with drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts, keyboardist Brian Jackson and violinist Scott Tixier.
He will be performing songs from his latest album Music From Our Souls, out May 19th.
